GUEST BLOG: Cakes by Nina

Our Signature Wedding Cake

What a fabulous Year it has been for Cakes by Nina, with our number one selling cake being even more popular than ever and we have orders for it going through to 2016.

We designed this cake in 2010 when we first started up Cakes by Nina, for the growing trend for people having afternoon teas as their afternoon reception rather than a formal sit down meal. This really started the ball rolling for Cakes by Nina on the wedding side as we just specialized in novelty celebration cakes up to that point.

We have seen some magnificent venues where this cake has been displayed in the most romantic settings, with biscuits and teapots centre pieces. It has also been used in a very vintage feel wedding.

We also do another version where the teapot is a topper cake and we have completely edible sponge cake cups and saucers to match. These are highly time consuming but the effect and stunning display it creates is so worth all the effort. We had such a great response to this and have again made various versions of this cake and we are really hoping to create a Moroccan inspired design in this format too.

Cakes by Nina is becoming known for her teapots to which we love to create, and also our ability to create quirky cakes. We strive to really reflect the couple theme and them as individuals and have some cracking orders on the books for 2015 and even 2016 is one of my favourite Ive designed todate but have to wait a while to create that one.

This one was one I was asked to create for a photoshoot, and have taken it along to many a wedding fair to which has had a super response and a great conversation piece, I would absolutely love to create this for real at some point.
