Michael Gordon- celebrant
After 25 years of teaching languages, I needed something new and (differently) challenging. In 2012, I met my first ever “civil celebrant”. When I asked him what that involved, almost at once I knew that I had found my calling!
I soon trained for both wedding and funeral celebrancy, and began work early in 2013. I have already gained considerable experience in both areas, and am now enjoying a good number of referrals. I love the various sides of my work: meeting my clients, finding out what they are really looking for, and giving them ideas; putting together bespoke services and ceremonies for them; and conducting meaningful and memorable ceremonies on the day.
Being a celebrant demands a rare combination of relationship-building, listening-, writing- and presenting-skills. Fortunately, those are my strengths.
I am passionate about personalising and delivering exactly what my clients want and making their big day really special.
I offer bespoke weddings (heterosexual or same-sex), vow renewals, handfastings, funerals, ring blessings, house-blessings and baby-namings.
I feel rejuvenated by the challenges and the chance to offer people the freedom of choice at such an important time in their lives. My next project is to write a book, based on what I have learned in my time as a civil celebrant.
I feel very privileged that I am at last doing something I really love, and have the opportunity to turn people’s dreams into reality.
We are working on a new coffee table book with our featured suppliers. Stay tuned for more info!
